Miðvikudaginn 24. maí kl. 13 munu lögreglustjórinn á Austurlandi og Neyðarlínan, í samstarfi við Fjarðabyggð og Almannavarnir, vera með prófun í boðun rýmingar með SMS skilaboðum. Tilgangur hennar er að leita upplýsinga um það hvers vegna SMS skilaboð berast ekki í alla síma sem staðsettir eru á því svæði sem þau eru send á, líkt og gerðist í snjóflóðunum í Neskaupstað í mars síðastliðnum.
Prófunin fer þannig fram að SMS skilaboð verða send á þéttbýliskjarnann/bæinn Neskaupstað. Í skilaboðunum segir skýrt að um prófun almannavarnaboða sé að ræða.
Þess er vinsamlegast óskað í framhaldinu að allir þeir sem staðsettir eru í Neskaupstað á þeim tíma sem skilaboðin eru send og fá þau ekki í farsíma sína, á tímabilinu frá kl. 13:00 til 13:30 þennan dag, tilkynni það rafrænt með því að svara spurningum á eftirfarandi slóð: www.112.is/bodunartilkynning

Test – SMS evacuation message
Wednesday, May 24 at 13, the Police Commissioner in East Iceland and the Emergency Line, in collaboration with Fjarðabyggð and Department of Civil Protection and Emergency Management (Almannavarnir), will run a test of announcing evacuation via SMS messages.
The purpose of the test alert is to check why some of the SMS messages are not being delivered to all phones located in the area they are sent to, as happened last March in Neskaupstaður during the avalanches. During the testing, SMS messages will be sent in urban center/town of Neskaupstaður. The message clearly states that it is an exercise run by the Department of Civil Protection and Emergency Management (Almannavarnir).
It is requested that all those who are in Neskaupstaður at the time the message is sent and do not receive it on their phones, in the period from 1:00 P.M to 1:30 P.M that day, report it electronically: www.112.is/bodunartilkynning
Good response for the test alert will give us a chance to improve both the country’s electronic communications system and Department of Civil Protection and Emergency Management response system. W środę, 24 maja o godzinie 13, Komisarz Policji we wschodniej Islandii i Linia Alarmowa we współpracy z Fjarðabyggð i Almannavarn przeprowadzą test ogłaszania ewakuacji za pomocą wiadomości SMS.
Celem testu jest sprawdzenie, dlaczego wiadomości SMS nie docierają do wszystkich telefonów znajdujących się na danym obszarze, na który są wysyłane ostrzeżenia, jak miało to miejsce w marcu tego roku, podczas lawiny śnieżnej w Neskaupstaður. Powiadomienia będą przyjmowane dopiero po przeprowadzeniu testów.
Podczas ćwiczeń zostaną wysłane wiadomości SMS na telefony znajdujące się na obszarze miejskim Neskaupstaður. Komunikat wyraźnie stwierdza, że są to jedynie ćwiczenia prowadzone przez Almannavarn.
