Samhæfingarmiðstöð Almannavarna og aðgerðastjórnstöðvar um land allt virkjaðar um og eftir miðnætti.
Mikill viðbúnaður er vegna óveðursins sem fram undan er út um allt land. Í dag funduðu Almannavarnir aftur með sérfræðingum Veðurstofunnar, viðbragðsaðilum, ábyrgðaraðilum raforku, fjarskipta og samgangna. Einnig voru á fundinum fulltrúar úr aðgerðastjórnun almannavarna um land allt. Eins og í gær var farið yfir veðurspár og til hvaða viðbúnaðar þarf að grípa þegar óveðrið skellur á.
Miklar líkur eru á foktjóni og ófærð innan hverfa. Eins og í gær þá er fólk hvatt til þess að ganga vel frá lausum munum og verktakar beðnir að ganga vel frá framkvæmdasvæðum. Vegagerðin hefur ákveðið að loka vegum vegna veðursins, hægt er að fylgjast með lokunum á heimasíðu Vegagerðarinnar.
Foreldrar eru beðnir að fylgast með hvernig skólahaldi verður háttað, nú þegar hafa einhverjir skólar ákveðið að hafa lokað á morgun.
Eins og fram hefur komið þá hefur Veðurstofa Íslands fært veður viðvörun sína upp á rautt fyrir höfuðborgarsvæðið. Spáð er suðaustan roki eða ofsaveðri, 23-30 m/s með snjókomu og skafrenningi en slyddu næst sjávarsíðunni. Hvassast í efri byggðum höfuðborgarsvæðisins og á Kjalarnesi.
Vegna óveðursins þá hefur Ríkislögreglustjóri í samráði við alla lögreglustjóra á landinu ákveðið að lýsa yfir hættustigi almannavarna frá miðnætti í kvöld. Almannavarnir halda áfram að fylgjast vel með og miðla upplýsingum til fjölmiðla um stöðuna í öllum landshlutum.
Almannavarnir geta virkjað þrjú stig í áætlun sinni: Óvissustig, hættustig og svo neyðarstig. Hættustig er virkjað þegar fólki, umhverfi eða byggð er ógnað, þó ekki svo alvarlega að um neyðarástand sé að ræða.

Departament ochrony ludności wprowadza z powodu złych warunków pogodowych w całym kraju stan alarmowy.
Centrum Koordynacji Dep. Ochrony Ludności i Centra Kontroli Działań w całym kraju zostaną postawione w stan gotowości dzisiaj od północy.
Trwa wiele przygotowań w związku z nadciągającym sztormem w całym kraju. Dziś Obrona Cywilna ponownie spotkała się z ekspertami z Biura Meteorologicznego, oraz instytucjami odpowiedzialnymi za elektrykę, telekomunikację i transport. W spotkaniu wzięli również udział przedstawiciele kierownictwa działań obrony cywilnej w całym kraju. Tak jak wczoraj, zapoznano się z nadciągająca prognozą pogody i tym na co należy się przygotować, gdy nadejdzie sztorm. Istnieje duże prawdopodobieństwo zniszczeń i braku możliwości przemieszczania się.
Tak jak wczoraj zachęca się o zabezpieczenie wszystkiego co może porwać wiatr, a budowlańców prosi o zabezpieczenie placów budowy. Vegagerðin postanowił zamknąć drogi ze względu na pogodę, można śledzić zamknięcia na stronie internetowej Vegagerðin.
Rodzice proszeni są o monitorowanie działalności szkół, niektóre szkoły już zdecydowały się jutro na zamknięcie.
Jak już wspomniano, Islandzkie Biuro Meteorologiczne podniosło swoje ostrzeżenie pogodowe na czerwony dla obszaru stolicy. Przewidywane są wiatry południowo-wschodnie z porywami, 23-30 m/s z opadami śniegu i śniegu z deszczem, bliżej morza ze śniegiem.
